"Mallet Fantastique" borders the classical and jazz worlds with original compositions by Tom Collier featuring striong elements of improvisation within the structure of formal composition. Some of the music on "Mallet Fantastique" was composed for vibraphone/marimba duo. Tom Collier played all of the parts himself through the recording technique known as overdubbing allowing him to record a second part along with the first already recorded track.
